You're so sweet

Does it show that I love yellow cardstock? I am smitten, I admit! It cheers up an otherwise dull day, given the weather of late.
Today I thought I would pull out this Iris stamp by Penny Black, which is perfect for spring. Recently I came across these beautiful red Iris'. Such a beautiful colour, so I thought I would do a red Iris.
I decided I would paint the stamp using my Kuretake Clean Color Brushes. My Misti makes this incredibly easy to do. I set my stamp up in my mini Misti, and proceeded to colour the image, starting with the flower.
You can see here that I left room for the yellow part of the flower. I painted with the Zig brush and spritzed lightly with water, adding layers to strengthen the colour.
With my paint brush I smoothed out the leaves and parts of the flower. I then added a darker colour to the edges of the leaves where shadows would fall, and spritzed lightly before stamping.
On my craft mat I put down the green colour, then added water to lighten the colour, applying to the bottom of my card. For further interest and using a small brush I flicked on full strength dark green paint. I then added yellow acrylic paint for more interest. I die cut the panel with the stitched rectangle die, then framed with yellow cardstock before attaching to my card base. I put the card back in my Misti, and stamped the sentiment using black ink, and finished with a few sequins.
I hope you enjoy this card and you will give this technique a try.
