This is Wishes, which I have showing over on the Scrap'n Stamp Blog today.
I got ahead of myself here, doing the stamping before my background, but that is okay, it still works.

I wanted to have an interesting background, and at the same time keep it light. On Neenah Solar Crest 110lb. card stock I did light smooshing for the background, being careful not to saturate the colours, and drying between colour additions. I also wanted to keep some white space.
When the background was dry I splattered some acrylic paint on the piece. I used Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Acrylic paint, however I note that Dina Wakley's Lapis is very similar in colour. Once the panel was dry I attached fun foam to the back using Sookwang (scor-pal/be creative) tape. I then attached the panel to my Bazzill card base in the blue.
I placed the card in my Misti and stamped the sentiment using Ranger Archival Ink in Manganese Blue. I then made the frame using Neenah Solar Crest card stock and my Penny Black Antique Frame Die set, gluing it on with Nuvo Adhesive.

Placing the card back in my Misti I again stamped the sentiment with the Manganese Blue. What luck having it line up the way it did!
While things were drying I made the background for inside my card, using the card stock left over from cutting the frame, and stamping the hello sentiment using Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp, in the Manganese Blue, which I styled a bit edgy to match the frame.

Following is the video I did for this card.

Thank you for joining me today. Following are Canadian links, and beside those, the USA affiliate links to the products that I used today.

  1. Kia, I LOVED watching your video and love your card! I love blue and yellow, and I was particularly interested in seeing you use the Oxide ink with Neenah 110# card stock. That's excited, and I must try a background myself. I also finally "caved" and purchased the Antique Frame set by Penny Black. It works so beautifully with this card. I love it! Hugs and love, sweet friend! xoxo
