About Me

A little bit about my crafting self. I have been a crafter for most of my adult life, and cannot imagine my life without crafting. Back in my younger days I did macrame, remember that? I cross stitch, taught to me by a wonderful friend's mother many years ago. From time to time I still pick it up and have one on the go presently.

I also sew and quilt. I draw the line at sewing clothes. I have done a fair amount of quilting, bed coverlets, wall hangings, lap and tabletop quilts etc. I don't do as much quilting these days. I think my card craft has taken over my space. I also sew for my home. Curtains, bedding, pillowcases, decorator pillows, tablecloths, placemats.

And I sew seasonal crafts and previously sold my work at craft shows. I still sew seasonal crafts from time to time, usually for gifts.

I started with paper crafts in 2004/05. First I did scrapbooking, but after 4 books I decided that was not for me, and I started making cards. I was hooked, and remain so to this day. My first cards were "rough", but I eventually got better at it. I am self taught, and have been self taught for all my crafts except the cross-stitch and watercolouring.

I joined Splitcoaststampers in 2010 after stalking the galleries for several years. I love the community of card makers and the wonderful support they have given over the years and I love the wealth of information available on this site.

I was invited to be part of the Dirty Dozen Design Team in 2014 by Lydia, the Community Manager at Splitcoaststampers. Needless to say it was a total surprise.

I now design on 4 Design Teams. They are each very different from the other, which makes each design team very enjoyable.

I make a lot of cards, so I give some away, give some to charity and I do sell some. I mail monthly cards to friends and they say they love them, so I continue! I also belong to a Random Act of Kindness Birthday club so birthday cards I make never go unloved.

And finally, I started taking watercolour classes in 2015 and very much enjoy it and the wonderful group of ladies in my class. It has been challenging, but I continue, and I have used what I am learning on my cards on many occasions.

I hope you will sit down with a cup of .... and have a look through my blog. If you have any questions, you can email me at the link provided on my home page.
